Liverpool were set to play Fulham this weekend as the Reds look to break into the Champions League spots, but the fixture will no longer take place… why is the game postponed? And when will the Reds next be in action?

Following their Champions League exit against Real Madrid, Liverpool’s attention will now turn to the Premier League. Much to the disappointment of fans of the Merseyside team, the Reds will not be in action this weekend.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are six points off fourth place Tottenham but have a game in hand.

The Reds were due to play Fulham this weekend but will now have a weekend off. 

Liverpool were beaten by Bournemouth in their last league game – with Philip Billing scoring the only goal of the game. As for Fulham, Marco Silva’s side were beaten 3-0 by Arsenal in their last outing.

Why was Liverpool vs Fulham postponed? 

Liverpool were due to face Fulham at Anfield on Saturday, March 18. 

However, the game was forced to be postponed after Fulham beat Leeds United in the last round of the FA Cup.

Marco Silva’s men will now play away to Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.

The game between Fulham and Manchester United will kick-off at 4.30pm.

A new date and time for Liverpool vs Fulham is yet to be revealed. 

There will be seven Premier League games in total being played this weekend, involving the teams who were knocked out of the FA Cup.

 

What happened in the reverse fixture between the two teams? 

The two sides met back in August in the opening weekend of the Premier League season. 

Aleksandar Mitrovic would score twice in a 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage. 

For Liverpool, both Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah scored for Klopp’s side.

When will Liverpool next play? 

After their defeat to Madrid in the Champions League, Liverpool will not be in action again for over two weeks.

This is due to the fact that the international break is set to return next week.

The Reds’ next game will be a trip to the Etihad Stadium when they play Manchester City at 12.30pm.
